Brandon Scriver – Head Instructor
Tuhon, Kamatuuran Kali
4th Degree Black Belt, American Kenpo
2nd Degree Black Belt/Instructor Qualification, Kwon Shu Karate
Brandon began his martial arts journey at the age of 21 with the goal of improving his health and building a better life. What started as a way to get in shape quickly became a lifelong pursuit of personal growth, skill development, and combative understanding.
With over 20 years of experience in a variety of martial arts—including Kenpo, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Jujutsu, and Taekwondo—Brandon brings a diverse and practical perspective to his teaching. He was first introduced to traditional martial arts through Karate and quickly moved into instructor training roles, developing a passion for teaching and curriculum development early on.
Brandon holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo under Grandmaster Tony Martinez Sr., and has studied extensively under several respected instructors, including:
- Wing Chun Kung Fu – private instruction over two years with a traditionalist approach under Gabe Ayala (Heimberger/Ip Ching Lineage)
- Jujutsu and Use of Force Law – integrated training that emphasized real-world application and legal awareness under Matt Lundgren
- Kamatuuran Kali – intensive ongoing study under Grand Tuhon Nate since 2024
In 2025, Brandon was formally promoted to Tuhon (Master Instructor) in Kamatuuran Kali for his deep understanding of the system, ability to transmit the art to others, and commitment to its preservation.
Beyond his technical knowledge, Brandon brings academic insight to his teaching with a background in Criminology, Social Deviance, and Abnormal Psychology—offering students a broader perspective on the realities of violence and self-protection.
He currently teaches Filipino Martial Arts in Logan, Utah, blending traditional principles with modern understanding in a dynamic, realistic, and respectful training environment.
“My goal as an instructor is simple: to help others grow stronger—mentally, physically, and emotionally—through the art of Kamatuuran Kali.”
